The Supreme Court Rule Committee made the following rules of court under the
Supreme Court Act 1970 on 19 July 2004.

Explanatory note
The object of these Rules is to make amendments to Part 67 of the Supreme Court
Rules 1970 that are consequential on the enactment of Part 2A (Resolution of disputes
without litigation) of the Defamation Act 1974.
1 Name of Rules
These Rules are the Supreme Court Rules (Amendment
No 393) 2004.
2 Amendment of Supreme Court Rules 1970
The Supreme Court Rules 1970 are amended as set out in
Schedule 1.
Schedule 1 Amendments
(Rule 2)
[1] Part 67, rule 11
Omit rule 11 (5).
[2] Part 67, rule 11B
Omit rule 11B (b). Insert instead:
(b) where Part 2A of the Defamation Act 1974 (which deals
with offers of amends) applies, exercise its powers
under that Part,
[3] Part 67, rule 22
Omit “section 39”. Insert instead “section 9F (2)”.
