Explanatory note
1. The object of these Rules is to amend Part 75 of the Supreme Court Rules 1970 to clarify that evidence in criminal proceedings may be video recorded.

1 Name of Rules
These Rules are the Supreme Court Rules (Amendment No 404) 2005.
2 Amendment of Supreme Court Rules 1970
The Supreme Court Rules 1970 are amended as set out in Schedule 1.

Part 75, rule 3L
Insert after rule 3K:
3L Recording of evidence
(1) This rule applies to all criminal proceedings in the Court
(including those specified in the Third Schedule to the Act).
(2) Evidence given by a witness may be recorded by video or by any
other audio-visual method as directed by the Court.
